Want loose perm for long sexy waves.. Some Questions!?

Hi, I have long hair, almost to middle of back. My hair is wavy with some curls towards the bottom.

I want to get a body wave (perm) to make it more of an even wave throughout.

Will my natural hair waves come back when the perm fades or will it be damaged and hanging straightish?

Quite nervous, first perm... going for the sexy mermaid waves.

Once you get a chemical, it is permanent. It doesn't fade out. It has to grow out It will hang straightish if you flat iron your perm a lot.
